The woman behind Dear Light

A place to return to yourself.

I believe every person carries something beautiful, unique and radiant within them. I started Dear Light as a place to remember that, especially when the world feels overwhelming.

Through poetic reflections, storytelling and gentle encouragement, I write about what it means to be human: to love, to lose, to heal, and to find joy again. My hope is that you arrive curious and leave a little more connected to the light within you.

A little about me: I live in New York, I was raised Albanian, and I am the mother of two grown daughters who are the loves of my life. Music speaks to my soul, in every language, and I dance whenever I can: belly dancing these days, flamenco for years, Albanian dancing always, and once upon a time ballroom, anything from salsa to rumba to the waltz. And I love the kind of books that haunt you long after the last page.

Dear Light is for the woman rebuilding herself after loss, for anyone wondering where they went, and for every soul learning that their worth was never something to earn.

Inspired by the timeless wisdom of poets like Rumi, by spiritual teachings, and by the lessons of being human.

In love & light,

Maryana Sinishtay

I used to think the Light was what came after the darkness. Now I wonder if it was there all along, and the darkness was simply where I finally learned how to see it.
